I've just bought an N5 card for the DS. I have downloaded the files onto the SD card, when I switch it on it comes up error but then goes into some menus but there doesn't seem to be any games on it. Does anyone know where I am going wrong??

It's driving me mad

Thanks
Sue

Why did you get a N5? That's the worst thing ever. Try an AceKard 2 instead, it's the best cart aside from Cyclo DS... I got mine here: http://www.emvee.ca with free shipping too..

It's not "the worst ever". Works flawlessly for me..

It was recommended to me, is it really that bad?

Xandu - can you help me with set up?

Thanks.

I guess I exaggerated a little, but it's simply a clone of the 1st gen R4 with the spring problem. R4 was never spectacular so neither is this. There are just tons of other better options available.

aren't we supposed to be helping this guy.
my suggestions:

redownload files.

it might be like the m3, so if the menu says "Games", or "NDS" etc. try making a folder named one of those and that might work.

formatt ur sd card.

call the manufacturer.

i hope these helped! :)

I think you need the firmware flash files, I'll upload them for you.

Place the files on the root.

Thanks but are they the only files I need, I have put them on the SD card and tried it but now the DS just says "loading" and doesn't do anything else.

Sorry to be a numpty but I am totally new to all this!

Hmm, have you put everything correctly in the root directory of your memory card? If you have, it should work correctly and load up the menu.

Also make sure that _system_ folder is in the right place (root).

Hi chilwell, the NDS Flash Cart Backup file that Xandu sent is spot on. try opening the file, select all the contents copy and paste the lot onto your enpty micro SD card. I then created a file on the SD card. Name it what you like and dump all your roms in there. switch it on and Hey Presto. Good luck.

Nope it's still not working for me :( it just says loading on the DS.

I downloaded your file, copied it to my SD card. What do you mean by root file??

Thanks.

Right tried again and now it says

Error
Did the set up end normally?
Is the "moonshl" folder moved or deleted?
Have you enabled the resume function with a media that is not supported?

What does this mean? I have formatted the card to FAT32.

Thanks

Can you upload a screenshot of your SD Card directory please? Like L:/.

I just want to make sure if you have the folders in their right place.

1. Push the PRINTSCRN button on your keyboard .
2. Open MS Paint.
3. Right-click, paste
4. Save the image.
5. Upload it here using the ImageShack plugin.

Hmm you seem to have everything in the right place. Not sure why it isn't working though.

Try contacting shodan06, he fixed his N5.

Right click on downloaded file then click on extract files then click extract and replace onto your removable drive (where the card reader is plugged into, mine is F:\)
