Microsoft’s new operating system Windows 9 could be shown off on September 30th for the first time, according to reports.
The preview version will apparently be shown at a press event on that date, where users will be able to try out the new OS.
This date follows recent reports from ZDNet (http://www.zdnet.com/microsoft-to-deliver-windows-threshold-tech-preview-around-late-september-7000032668/%20), which claimed Microsoft would be holding an event towards the end of September or early October.
Images of the mini Start menu were also previously leaked (http://www.pcr-online.biz/news/read/windows-9-start-menu-pictures-leaked/034378), which developers will get the chance to try out.
The OS will allegedly also feature an early version of Siri-rival Cortana as well as several UI changes. An online distribution method is also said to be included, which will bind a license to a user’s individual PC and activate once they connect to the Microsoft Store.
It is still not clear whether Windows 9 will be known as Windows 9. However, rumours suggest it has been dubbed Windows Threshold.
Once the OS has been finalised, it is expected to launch during April 2015 (http://www.pcr-online.biz/news/read/windows-9-tech-preview-due-september-report/034569%20).
