Sony has released firmware version 2.30 for the Playstation 3. DTS-HD Master Audio and DTS-HD High Resolution Audio outputs are now supported when playing back Blu Ray disks - however it does not yet support DTS-ES and DTS 96/24 for DVD-Video or DTS-ES Matrix. You can update to the latest release via System Update or download the 130MB package via a computer.

Oh and the update allows access to the redesigned Playstation Store. I haven't updated yet and of now but there will probably be some new content added during the rebuild. If anyone spot anything new, please tell and post via comments.

No new content that I spotted.

The store is fast, but it doesnt seem to be rendering pictures at all.

Maybe its because of the heavy traffic because its new.

Ya, I tried loading the preview pictures and its slow as hell. I successfully loaded just about all of them but unfortunately the PS3 doesn't cache them for later visits so it's still as bad now as it was.

Very disappointing.
Navigation is actually much slower than the old store, any benefits only appear when you have gone through every page and downloaded all the assets.

Every asset is re-loaded when you enter the store, titles, menus, images, descriptions…* If the store only updates on Thursdays simply saving all the information on Thursday would be much more efficient. I prefer the old web store, even if the images didnt load, the text was available instantly making purchases much faster.

The UK store is also very poorly organised, Demos and Games all fall under the "GAMES" menu, and the very loose genre filtering is very slow to navigate as many games are not genre exclusive.

The look of the new store was alright in my opinion. But its highly disappointing that the images don't load up quickly and aren't cached for later use.

I see no benefit from Sony going out and making a new program to handle the store. At least the web-browser caches images and what not and the store via web-browser worked perfectly.

Maybe they did this for better Home interaction; since I imagine that we'll be able to use the Store from within Home.
