iOS 8 (http://www.engadget.com/2014/09/16/ios-8-review/) may be trickling down (http://www.engadget.com/2014/09/17/ios-8-is-now-available/) into people's devices (http://www.engadget.com/2014/09/16/iphone-6-and-6-plus-review/), but those long-promised health and fitness features (http://www.engadget.com/2014/06/02/apple-healthkit/) won't be along for the ride. Apple has discovered a critical flaw in HealthKit (http://www.engadget.com/2014/06/03/apple-healthkit-fitness/)that's so big, it's prompted the company to pull any app that connected to the service from the App Store. According to The Next Web (http://thenextweb.com/apple/2014/09/17/apple-pulled-ios-8-healthkit-apps-app-store-last-minute/), apps like MyFitnessPal are now racing to prepare a HealthKit-free version of its latest update which added miCoach support (http://www.engadget.com/2014/09/17/adidas-micoach-myfitnesspal-nutrition/). In a statement, Apple says that it's "working quickly" to fix the issue, and that HealthKit apps likeCARROT Fit (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/carrot-fit-7-minutes-in-hell/id769155678?mt=8), which is currently unavailable, will return to the store by the end of the month.
