Atari's Virtua Tennis challenger, Smash Court Tennis 3 on Xbox 360, will be perched on UK shop shelves in June.

Roger Federer and Maria Sharapova are two of the 16 stars that appear in the tennis sim, which promises "highly realistic visuals, a host of gameplay enhancements, and online play via Xbox Live."

You'll also be able to create your own players, personalising their rackets, shoes, hairstyles, skin tone and clothing to your liking.

It also hopes to be more accessible than the typical tennis sim with a new gameplay system which "lets all players, no matter what their skill level, benefit quickly from the powerful shots and finely honed skills of the star players."

Six new shots can be viewed - right here (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/viewer.php?mode=article&id=196335).

I played the first Smash Court Tennis on the PlayStation 2, and I didn't like it really. The Virtua Tennis serie is a lot better, and this third game of Smash Court Tennis will not do better.
