A couple of days before Christmas, KaKaRoTo released the PS3xport source code (https://github.com/kakaroto/ps3xport) on GitHub and posted info about it in his blog (http://kakaroto.homelinux.net/2014/12/ps3xport-released/). PS3xport makes it possible to modify PS3 backups created with the standard 'Backup Utility' tool in XMB even on a system with original firmware (OFW). The tool relies on a method by flatz to extract IDPS (PS3 device ID) by sniffing the network traffic from the PS3 console via a PC connected to internet, flatz indirectly released a windows proxy to handle this called idpstealer (http://playstationhax.it/forums/topic/1083-release-idpstealer-by-flatz/) which was posted by zecoxao over at playstationhax.it. Since then flatz has released arctool and arcunpack (http://playstationhax.it/forums/topic/1092-release-arctool-and-arcunpack-by-flatz/) which pretty much does the same as KaKaRoTo's PS3xport. The related files can also be found in the download section (http://www.eurasia.nu/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=search&query=ps3) here at EurAsia."
