Hello,

I use to have a 1.50 psp way back in the day and use to come to this site for all my needs, it was great, i love this site. But then i had to sell my 1.50 cus i needed the money real bad.i bought it for $250 and had to sell it to gamestop for 90 bucks. i was upset

So anyways now that the slim has TV it looks really juicy and i really want one, but i also want to play some awesome homebrew

so my questions are.

Can you use homebrew like the 1.50 back in the day and use the TV out feature at the same time?

do the slims all have the same board and firmware?

ANything else i must know?

Thank you so much, i just really want to play those cool homebrews on my Tv

You cant access the 1.50 kernel on the slim they don't have the same motherboards or batteries and only a growing minority of good homebrew support it

on the plus side you get more ram to diddle about with

i know this cos i have a slim too!!

the comments about psp hobrewers being baby eaters is funny anyway i digress

if your tv supports interlaced scanning then yes and concerning the mod i doubt it will be software based

Yes, you will be able to play games on a your TV.
Some support scaling better than others, you may end up with some kind of black border all around the image but it will work.

From the post that the pspfanboy article links to (boldness added by me)
"This is a sample to start the psp slim tv out from homebrew, using whatever cable (d-terminal has not been tested, but i think it has same code as component), and use it in full screen."

From the sounds of it, getting the PSP to do the scaling requires modification of the homebrew app's code. I do not believe official games are supported by this development.

It does beg the question: if homebrew can be coded to output at full screen, why the hell does sony not have an option for official games to do so.......? Is the scaling done by the cpu and it's expensive or something?

I am trying to create toronto maps using GMDL 0.5.05b. After i selected the area and click "Download the map" the msg appears telling the map is created. But I am getting following msg on my psp when i try to view the same map:

"map size seems to be very small!
Consider re-building this map.
Press X to Proceed.."

I have tried many times by altering the map size to view bigger area but still getting the same message.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

lockethevaliant: Have you gone into your TVs menu and looked for a zoom or scale (scaling) option?

To use homebrew you will need to install a custom (hacked/unofficial) firmware.
To get from an official firmware to a custom one you will need to use the Pandora's battery method.

thanks "bah" I got that problem fixed.
I was making a mistake by not clicking the "Geodata" at the end since I was downloading Canada maps.
Thanks for that.

Now I am having another issue.
This time I was able to create a big map of greater toronto area but when i open that map using mapthis on my psp, the moment I click on zoom button the map freezes and in few seconds it shuts down the psp.

I have notice one of my small map is working fine but other two maps which are slightly bigger not TOO big... they both freeze.

Any idea anyone?
Thanks.

Post the question in Deniska`s forum (the one I linked to in my last post) man!

Most of the people who can help you get it answered will not look in this thread. That is the best place to ask, not here.
