Heres a release that no one spotted it seems (Shame on some of you) over at Consolevision (http://www.consolevision.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=3644), heres what ZMaster Posted:

Hey,

I've been working on a Lumines like game for the DC over the past few weeks. The game takes the basic idea from Lumines and is called 'Block Smash' but I don't know in what extent you can call it a clone of Lumines because I never played the original one However, all the artwork and content has been created by myself or under permission of the respective owner and is not stolen from anywhere. The game features 12 Levels/Skins, Sound FX & Music and VMU support (to save your Highscore and current level).

I would also appreciate some feedback, if anyone feels like he/she has to give any

*Insert sound someone makes when they become excited here!*

I've always wanted to try Lumines, but being the Sony hater that I am, I could never invest in a PSP. Now I can play the game, and I still don't have to buy any infernal Sony hardware.

*Insert evil laughter here!*

this is a nice lumines-like game. just had a quick round with it and that was enjoyable.

if i may be so bold as to make some suggestions...
first, the blocks rotate in the direction against the clock, i thought this was kind of annoying and made me die a couple of times. like in the original lumines game it could be pleasant to have 2 buttons (one turning with and one turning the blocks against the clock).

that leads to the 2nd point that I have... when i died i could only choose "B menu", I think it could be good to have a "play again" option...not that it takes long to load the menu but when I'm into the game I want to continue.

anyway, nice attempt & thank you very much for sharing with us.

Thank you for all the positive feedback.

@eretsua: I'll put your ideas into the next release - thank you for that.

I've also been asked wether people could add their own levels with sounds and gfx to the game. I'll also work that into the next release, which is planed for the near future :-)

Great game Zmaster. A very, very small suggestion. Remove the "B-button cancel"-text from the bottom of the opening menu coz pressing it doesn't do anything when your in the first menu. Not a big deal just thought you should know...

I enjoyed this game alot and still play it every now and then...

But I find the fact that you have to be very careful when you use the down-button to boost the block down, quite frustrating. Because the next block is often boosted down as well and thus killing me... Maybe make it so that the down button has to be released and pressed again to affect the next block.

Anyways excellent game, probably the homebrew-game I've spent the most time with (not counting emulators).

Nice bump. Block Smash definitly deserved it. Played it a lot.

Gotta love the fact that it's easily themeable!

If someone created a nice theme, just post it here. Perhaps we could gather all themes to release a DCEvolution image featuring different BlockSmash variants with custom graphics ?!

Thank you for the feedback guys. I appreciate that! Always good to hear that people are still playing the game. For all the fans of the game or those who want to become one, we've got something coming up soon, so stay tuned...

Cheers!

Oh, do I smell a new release? Can't wait.

I love having a game of Block Smash while my friends are tearing their hair out wanting the DC for multiplayer Quake III.

And ye sorry for bumping but this game deserves a whole lot more attention.
