Microsoft may not be winning in the mobile arena, but they're still making tons of money from those who are. Patent licensing agreements net the company billions each year (http://yro.slashdot.org/story/13/11/06/2135236/microsoft-makes-an-astonishing-2-billion-per-year-from-android-patent-royalties) from device makers like Samsung, Foxconn, and ZTE. Now, Microsoft has added another company to that list: Qisda Corp (http://betanews.com/2015/04/24/microsoft-continues-earning-money-from-linux-increases-patent-licensing-agreements/). They make a number of Android and Chrome-based devices under the Qisda brand and the BenQ brand, and nowMicrosoft will be making money off those, too (http://www.smarteranalyst.com/2015/04/24/stock-update-nasdaqmsft-qisda-signs-patent-licensing-agreement-with-microsoft-corporation/).
