Firefox OS (http://www.engadget.com/2014/08/23/irl-zte-open-c/) might be in a distant fourth place (or further?) here domestically, but Mozilla sees plenty of value for it in emerging countries (http://www.engadget.com/2008/04/02/nokia-blasts-out-four-affordable-handsets-for-emerging-markets/). Specifically? Senegal and Madagascar in Africa, where it recently partnered with French telecom Orange to launch the KLIF. And no, you aren't wrong, it's neither a flip-phone or a slider (http://www.engadget.com/2015/03/01/mozilla-is-bringing-firefox-os-to-flip-phones-and-sliders/). Nor is it transparent (http://www.engadget.com/2014/12/23/japan-transparent-firefox-os/). A Mozilla blog post (http://www.theverge.com/2015/5/8/8574739/firefox-os-phones-now-available-africa) says that the main idea with this 3G smartphone is to get more people online in places where they previously couldn't. It's the web outfit following through on a promise it made back at Mobile World Congress in Spain, and the Middle East is where we'll see the initiative pop up next.
