Nintendo has revealed US qualifiers for the company's recently announced Nintendo World Championships revival will take place later this month.
Eight qualifying events will take place simultaneously (excluding the time zone differences) across America on May 30th from 10 am to 7 pm local time. Entrants will be playing the Championship mode of Ultimate NES Remix on Nintendo 3DS, competing for high scores in Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros 3 and Dr Mario challenges.
The qualifiers will take place at the following Best Buy locations:
5001 Northern Blvd. Long Island City, New York
10760 NW 17th St. Miami, Florida
900 E. Golf Road, Schaumburg, Illinois
12905 Elm Creek Blvd., Maple Grove, Minnesota
9378 N. Central Expressway, Dallas, Texas
3675 Pacific Coast Highway, Torrance, California
1717 Harrison St. San Francisco, California
2214 S. 48th St. Tacoma, Washington
A Best Buy rep informed Polygon (http://www.polygon.com/2015/5/19/8624881/nintendo-world-championships-2015-locations-best-buy) that registration begins at 9 am on the day of the qualifiers, and the field of entrants is capped at 750 players per store on a first-come, first-served basis.
