We were getting a little tired of playing Doom on every (http://www.engadget.com/2011/02/21/ti-nspire-calculator-yes-it-plays-doom/) household (http://www.engadget.com/2013/09/17/doom-piano/) appliance (http://www.engadget.com/2011/04/08/doom-2-gets-ported-to-pocketbook-360-plus-e-reader-video/)known to man (http://www.engadget.com/2014/07/27/doom-on-an-atm/), office printers (http://www.engadget.com/2014/09/15/doom-canon-printer/) and even inside the game itself (http://www.engadget.com/2015/07/19/hack-makes-playing-doom-on-a-computer-inside-doom-a-reality/). That's why it's a nice change to see that it's now possible to play Half-Life (http://www.engadget.com/2013/01/26/half-life-now-runs-on-mac-os-x-and-linux-we-assure-you/) on your Android smartwatch, thanks to software modder extraordinaire Dave Bennett. He's been able to squeeze SDLash3D (https://github.com/SDLash3D), an open-source emulator for some of Valve's early titles, onto the LG's first generation G Watch (http://www.engadget.com/2014/07/03/android-wear-review/). Unfortunately, playing the title from your wrist is problematic, since the frame rate can dip down pretty low and the small screen doesn't leave you a lot of room to use the soft controls. Still, anything's better than having to bum around Knee-Deep in the Dead (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doom_(1993_video_game)#Plot) for the millionth time when we're bored on a bus.
