Google is getting serious about 360-degree video content. And it's not only about supporting it through YouTube (http://www.engadget.com/2015/01/05/youtube-360-degree-video-support/) or, by extension, Cardboard (http://www.engadget.com/2015/05/28/google-updates-vr-jump-cardboard/). The search giant's also behind an app called Spotlight Stories (http://techcrunch.com/2013/10/29/google-motorola-spotlight-stories/), which it created with Motorola in 2013 and has been on Android since (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.spotlightstories&hl=en). As of today, that applicationis also available (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/google-spotlight-stories/id974739483?mt=8) for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad -- as long as those devices are running a version of iOS 8 (http://www.engadget.com/2014/09/16/ios-8-review/). Google describes Spotlight Stories as a "mobile movie theater" that combines 3D and 2D animation with 360-degree spherical video (http://techcrunch.com/2015/07/23/google-brings-its-360-degree-movies-app-spotlight-stories-to-ios/), sphere audio and sensor-triggered interactions to create an immersive experience. Right now there are four stories you can watch: Buggy Night, Help, Duet and Windy Day, all of which are original and were created exclusively for Spotlight Stories.
