It looks like Apple's time at the top of China's smartphone heap (http://www.engadget.com/2015/05/11/idc-china-market-report-q1-2015/) was short-lived. Researchers at Canalys estimate (http://www.canalys.com/newsroom/media-alert-nearly-one-third-smart-phones-shipped-q2-china-were-xiaomi-and-huawei) that local brand Xiaomi (http://www.engadget.com/2015/07/02/xiaomi-phone-sales/) has once again (http://www.engadget.com/2014/08/04/xiaomi-outships-samsung-in-china/)become the country's smartphone market share leader, snagging 15.9 percent of shipments during the second quarter of the year. In fact, Apple is down to third place -- one of Xiaomi's fastest-growing rivals, Huawei, claimed the runner-up spot with 15.7 percent. Samsung and Vivo (http://www.engadget.com/2014/12/10/vivo-x5max-super-slim-phone/) rounded out the top five.
