I'm hoping that I can get some quick free info from some wonderful forum members here. So here are the basic question:

1) What's the easiest way to get a domain name (with or without hosting)? Hopefully something with fairly large transfer allowances.

2) What's a widely used, cheap, or free/open source setup for e-commerce/pay subscription membership?

3) Same thing, but with steaming videochats.

4)More questions to come.

Thanks!

Domian (http://www.freedomain.co.nr/)

You need a server for file transfer, which you get with a host.

Hosting (http://www.absolutely-free-hosting.com/)

This is for a shop (http://www.shopcreator.com/)

Although, I'm sure it can be altered to specific needs.

3) Same thing, but with steaming videochats.

Video streaming (http://www.streamingvideoprovider.co.uk/)

Cheap, not FREE.

i'm using dreamhost and they are good. And i have a promo code for it "DS69" for $69 you get years hosting and a free domain. hosting is normally $119 for a year.

they have one click installs for a few CMS etc like Joomla which has loads of extensions for e-commerce etc

Actually, I think I figured out a lot of it already. I've got hosting for the video and software for it, am presently building the front and the whole site bit (should be easy, basic HTML with bits of added js for the videochat interface).

I think I might end up moving this to staff, as whenever I get a demo up, I'd want it to be super-private.
