Spider-Man is a hit. With more than 3.3 million copies sold in its first three days of sale, Insomniac Games' PlayStation 4 exclusive open-world action game is now the fastest-selling first-party PS4 game to date, Sony announced on Twitter (https://twitter.com/PlayStation/status/1042775621074669568) today.
The previous holder of that title was God of War, which launched in April and racked up 3.1 million copies sold (https://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2018-05-03-god-of-war-tops-3-1-million-sold-in-three-days) through downloaded copies and physical versions sold through to customers.
The game's sales success is not terribly surprising.
