Rumours of the enigmatic disc-less Xbox One are doing the rounds again, this time with a little more substance.
According to Windows Central (https://www.windowscentral.com/xbox-one-s-all-digital-edition-preorder), which claims to have information from sources close to the issue, the new console is called the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition.
There is no indication of price, or any other hardware specifics, but initial reports suggested that dropping the disc-drive could bring it to anywhere between $100 and $200.
Reports of the disc-less Xbox, codenamed Maverick, first surfaced in November last year after tech site Thurrott leaked information about the console (https://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2018-11-16-microsoft-reportedly-planning-release-of-digital-only-xbox-one) suggesting a Spring 2019 launch.
The most recent information appears to confirm this, suggesting a "near-global simultaneous launch" for the disc-less console, with pre-orders going up in April this year, and hitting shelves in May.
