Ghost of Tsushima sold through 2.4 million copies in its first three days on sale, Sony announced today (https://twitter.com/PlayStation/status/1286632240949219331).
The samurai action game from Sucker Punch is now the fastest-selling new intellectual property from Sony this generation, the company said.
Sony didn't indicate what game Ghost of Tsushima toppled for that title, but 2017's Horizon: Zero Dawn is a likely candidate, having sold 2.6 million copies in its first few weeks on sale (https://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2017-03-16-horizon-zero-dawn-hits-2-6m-sales).
While it topped the list of original IP, Ghosts of Tsushima still fell far short of the sales of some PS4 exclusives based on established franchises.
