CD Projekt S.A. is facing a legal battle over Cyberpunk 2077, as Rosen Law Firm today announced it has filed a class-action lawsuit against the company alleging executives lied to investors about the state of the game on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 systems.
The suit claims that CD Projekt management failed to disclose that the game was "virtually unplayable" on the consoles "due to an enormous number of bugs," resulting in Sony pulling the digital version of the game from sale (https://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2020-12-18-sony-pulls-cyberpunk-2077-from-playstation-store) and Microsoft and other sellers offering refunds for Cyberpunk 2077 purchases (https://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2020-12-18-microsoft-says-its-granting-full-refunds-to-anyone-who-purchased-cyberpunk-2077-digitally).

CD Projekt should not have tried rushing the release of Cyperpunk 2077 despite several previous date pushbacks. It'd have been better to spent more time taking out the bugs and focus on the next gen console (PS5 and Xbox Series X). Folks would have understood that logic, given how demanding it is to produce those high level graphics. Of course it doesn't help when there's pressures from management and the investors quarterbacking the push to get it out there as fast a possible.
