Ac_K (http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Homebrew_apps/Yabause_Wii) has posted a new version of the Sega Saturn Emulator for Nintendo Wii:

Yabause Wii is a Sega Saturn emulator for wii and is the first of its kind as emulating the complex processes of the Sega Saturn is much harder then it looks and now even harder to run it on the limited hardware of the wii. Yabause Wii can now run a small number of commercial games at usable speeds (5-10fps) were it is still possible to play the game.

Development Status
Ac_K:

I use the actual version on the Yabause website.

Changelog:

- ThX to Waninkoko for WAD Manager source.

- ISO selection menu added with help of WAD Manager source.

- Useless functions remove.

- Add CUE and BIN support.

- Littles code optimisations.

- Check ISO extension.

- Check if BIOS exist.

For use, put Bios.bin in the Yabause folder and put ISO, CUE, BIN roms in the Yabause/ROMS folder.

To anyone who's interested, here's a note from the Yabause team at large regarding these Wii compiles:
http://yabause.org/2008/06/29/some-clarification/

To sum it up: There's a reason we aren't releasing builds of the Wii port, namely, we don't think its ready. As such, the Wii port is pretty much unsupported by us at this point.

I just think its greqt that this is on the wii so thank you for this new version/port Ac_K.

The emulater on all platforms is still at a very early stage so even with an offical release (with all the added optimisztions that the yabause team will provide) then this is still not going to play great on the wii.

The dreamcast has just had an offical release so I think it great that coders are also concentrating now also on the wii with it being a current gen machine (even though this releas its its an unoffical port).

I look forward to the offical aone but for now this will do a nicely.

thankyou in advanced

Thanks for working on this, can't wait to be able to play Saturn games on the Wii at full speed at some point in the future!

You're going to be waiting forever. It's not the emulator it's the hardware it's running on. It's just not going to happen.

I cant get my bubble bobble game to work.

I did as the instuctions said and have placed my bubble bobble iso, cue and mp3 in the roms folder. When I load the emu it picks up the bubble bobble iso and cue but when I load it it does the saturn intro but then it just goes to the saturn cd player?

help!

Could be the wrong region, the Saturn would go into the CD player if you tried to run the wrong region of game in it. Are you using the right region bios for the game?

It appears to be a problem with the emu since i've tried EU,US,JAP bioses and other people seems to have the same problem so it can't be a coincidence, you'd think the guy who compiled it would check this before making it available.

Ah well, never mind then!

Hmmm, I do actually have a Saturn thinking about it.

I'm also getting this. Tried a few games and have the correct bios but the cd player just keeps popping up?

While the Saturn is harder to emulate than the PSX, I still think it would be able to run a lot of games at full speed. The Dreamcast could emulate PSX games at fullspeed and the Wii is a lot more powerful.

Exact same problem as above. It loads fine to the CD Player, doesn't give any errors after it reads the file, and yet won't actually load the game. Apparently no one has got this to work. I would contact Ac_K to ask for a fix, but he abandoned this project when he realized the Yabause Team was working on an official port.
