Link (http://wiird.l0nk.org/wp/) posted this news:

Okay, people wanted it, people get it.

Ocarina is a very simple Wii application for your homebrew channel. What it does? Start a game.. but there's a twist of course.

Ocarina checks the GAME ID.. like RZDP01 for Zelda Twilight Princess (PAL). Then it checks the inserted SD card whether it can find a cheat code file for that game: in this case it would have to be name [sd]:\codes\rzdp01.gct .

To create GCT files.. a PC application is bundled in the package. This application is coming with 2 example files. rsbe.txt and rsbp.txt (Smash Brothers NTSC-U and PAL respectively). Using the File menu you can open, them and select the cheats you want.
Note that unlike an Action Replay you can modify codes with XXXXXXXX inside them.. it will always ask you to store modifications to its application memory I added this question so that people do not cry if a code is messed up - the actual cheat code file will not be modified until you save it in the app.

Once you're done selecting codes: click on "Export to GCT"... and the rest should be pretty straight forward! Insert your SD card.

The package is seperated in a PC folder (PC client) and HBC (Homebrew channel)... put the stuff in its folders.. and they're happy!

Here's the official link on where it was released: http://wiird.l0nk.org/wp/

It uses the WiiRd codes that were previously only usable with the USB Gecko and WiiRd. This app obviously is the Stand-Alone Code Handler for WiiRd codes.

WiiRd codes can be found on:

http://usbgecko.com/codes
http://usbgecko.com/forums

This app is great for anyone who's Wii isn't near their computer (which makes the USB Gecko useless).

The author is Link. I'm not sure if anyone else was involved.

I've been awaiting this app for a while; and I finally get to use codes on my games. :) I haven't tried it out quite yet; but I will soon. I have the GCT patches made, so all I have to do is put the files on my SD card and try it out.

Wanted to try it out as a Proof of Concept, the loader just freezes at 46% for me.

What loader are you using? It works fine for me using the HBC. If you are using the HBC: make sure that any GCN memory cards are removed.

I tested out Ocarina a few minutes ago; works great. It has some sound issues on Twilight Princess; but the same issue occured in Gecko OS. I guess I'll have to live with that. Otherwise, everything else worked fine.

Yes, I'm using the HBC method, and I have no memory cards or anything else plugged into the Nintendo Wii.

...Possibly it's the fact that my system is 3.2U.

Mine is also 3.2U. Maybe you got a broken file or something? I've had broken files from this site before.

Try downloading it from the WiiRd site. (http://wiird.l0nk.org/ocarina.zip)

That's originally what I thought was the case, but I already have downloaded from the link you have provided and have only come up with the same result. Even with 3.3U.

Hmm, I'm not sure then. Just to clarify; the actual app itself doesn't load up at all? If so, I'd go to the USB Gecko Forums (http://usbgecko.com/forums) to get better troubleshooting.

It goes to 46% then freezes, so it does so partway, but overall, yeah, it's not loading.

Alright, I'll check it out.

Tested it out, works like a charm.
Tested it out with SSB:Braw PAL, with the "no camera restriction" cheat. Worked great, but not flawless. I noticed som e"stuttering" in the opening video; play a sec, stop a millisec, play a sec, stop a millisec, repeat. Also, it wouldnt detect the SD-card, so i had to save the image to the Wii, reboot, then move the datafiles over to the SD-card after starting Brawl again.

Other than that, i didn't see any mistakes.

I've noticed that music and videos don't load well because of the memory this takes up. It's not a problem for me, though.

It's telling me that this isn't a valid Wii application, I put the Ocarina folder in the apps folder of my SD card and I made a :/codes/ folder for my cheats. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

You have an old version and need to update it. Otherwise use the new version of GekkoOS, it has Ocarina built in.

All I'd probably use Ocarina for is making custom stages, and allowing any music to be played on any stage if such cheat exists.

Here's the million dollar question: Can you use this for older Gamecube games? Finally getting all the PAR games for Animal Crossing would be nice for the family.

The problem is Nintendo's latest "update". Ocarina is one of the many applications its somehow blocked from loading off the homebrew channel. Does anyone know if there is a newer version that WILL work, and if so can you give me a link?

ocarina DOES work on 4.0 check wiibrew.org and check out the new GeckoOS!

No cheating online people.

Nintendo doesn't care if you're using cheats in private matches against friends. However, if it's a worldwide race (or a public match against anyone), they'll ban you.

you need to read up on ocarina on wiibrew, it will tell you that you need the wiird codes for your'e specific game, like RMP01.txt etc which gecko OS will load into memory etc.
