Elka (http://elkadev.blogspot.com/) has released a very nice looking Tetris clone for the PSP called ASTC or Another Stupid Tetris Clone, heres the info:

Beta V1.0

known bugs
-----------------------
- seems to crash after something like 10min of playing, probably due to a memory leek, need to check
whether it crashes during a game or just when restarting a game.

TODOs
----------------------
- ok, major problem is, THIS GAME IS BORING, so as i'm not a tetris fan, i would really like to
add funny things like maybe some combo possibilities, a lumines like mode (where the blocks could be brocken
in pieces when they fall) or just another game whith blocks that's more funny and intelligent to play :)

So all comments / ideas / feedback are welcome, fell free to email me or post comments
at http://elkadev.blogspot.com/ thanx in advance :)

Cheers

If your going to make a tetris type game make it like LUMINES instead of using the lumines format to make a tetris thats just a waste of an idea. . .I cannot do any better myself, but i think this release is stupid.

Half of you out there are making the dumbest programs ever. When a new program is released its usually another thing released in lua (useless unless its the calc) or some stupid puzzle or stupid spoof game thats a clone of an already made game. Ex-Duck hunt emu on the psp, alien hunt, 4-5 different teris's, numerous calculator developments, think of something new.

The Mac and windows launchers are maddd cool but they stink right now as seeing as you can only open wordpad basically. . .i think the focus should be on cracking LATER system firmwares because sooner or later we will HAVE TO give up our 1.5's or you will because i have 2 psp's

ok I have a weird idea

1 give it the time thing like lumines but have it shift between different game modes on the fly every 20-50 times the line goes across the screen..
make all the blocks 6 colors so it can go into different modes
make two of the colors into basic blocks when a game needs them the other colors turn into matching blocks
so you could play 50 lines of tetris
then shift into lumines mode (and all the blocks would fall and the basic blocks would turn into darker shades and matching blocks would turn lighter. and a square can be made of either lighter or darker blocks
then shift into kirby star stacker mode (hard to explain you really would have had to play the game)
then a dr mario type game (make 3 colors viruses 3 colors vitamins and stop dropping the virus colors for a bit)

then do a freaky radial transforming bit and make a puzz loop sequence as a bonus when you reach a certain number of squares removed (like 2-300 at first)
or a pong mode bonus sequence
and list the mode about 10 lines away from the actual switch add powerups to make un-occupiable spaces pop up or make the timeline speed up or go backwards or make your controls reverse or want to move to one side (confused and drunk controls)

you get the idea make it where you have no idea what might happen next.

if you did it like lumines with the changing backgrounds i could help out with the music.
lumines has a superb audio/visual vibe and it would be wicked to create
some music for your version.
i have a wide range of styles, at present i'm working with rmedtx on Rael the redemption.
my website has plenty of music which i have created for download
check it out
