apart from not being able to doenload games onto the 2.0 version whats the difference between 1.5 and 2.0. what will i miss out on if i do downgrade my psp.

You forgot about the wallpaper function in v.2.0 But luckily we have that on 1.5 also thanks to some nice people ;)

The video support is different people say its different but its really not. When we tried to load gta on 1.5 it must've been looking for something on the 2.00 firmware such as the web browser or wallpaper enability. (is that a word. . . ?)

there are no new AVI formats or anything on 2.00 that you can play that you couldnt on 1.5

Wrong, wrong, and wrong.
It's not the "special, uber-l33t, 2.x video codecs" that everyone all over the net is spouting off about. It's the ENCRYPTION in 2.0.

so how do you get round playing gta on V1.5 without upgrading? mine wont play keeps asking to upgrade.

You can't, period. Upgrade, play the mess out of it, then downgrade again or use Fanjita's wonderful 2.0 ebootloader to run a lot of the current homebrew.
