Crediar (of wiidev efnet channel) has released his Wii System Menu hack boasting these features:

This hack includes:
*No healthwarning (the blackscreen is the time it needs to load the channels)
*region free Wii games
*region free GC games
*region free channels
*start the build-in rescue menu when Y is pressed on the first GC controller
*rescue menu patch to boot everything not just diag-discs
*No mainmenu BGM

more to come

http://www.youtube.com/v/HZY2XSWc2F0

More info from readme:

First of all I want to thank svpe and ChipD for their help with testing the hacks.

Notes:
These hacks only work with the systemmenu 3.2E(v290)
If you have any other version it will just return to the loader.

This tool does not update any SHA1 hashes or signatures.
Currently IOS isn't checking those, but that could be fixed
in a future update.

Just load it and carefully read the on screen stuff
otherwise you won't be able to install it.

Your systemmenu will only be patched, it won't be deleted.
This makes the patch progress very brick safe.

Future Plans:
I'm already working on new hacks for the menu which didn't make it to the current
release:

*Update blocker
*Copy 'nocopy' savefiles
* more to come

Still need a modchip n00b

P.S.

Does this hack include being able to autoboot a game directly from turning on the Wii?

Like not having to actually go into the Menu, navigate to the disc, and hit "start".

Because if so, it would be made of epic win to play Gamecube games, and no longer needing to use a wiimote/classic controller.

Noes!

Cause then I would have to downgrade my Wii to version 3.2

I know people were getting bricked from the region patcher, but has anyone been bricked with the downgrade?

Also, if I downgrade, then install this hack, then update up to 3.3 would it still work? Or will this ONLY work on 3.2?

So you could autoboot the GC game without having to use the wiimote to navigate to the Disc Channel?

If so, I will then dwell into making banners as I no longer will have to fear being banner bricked since I could just autoboot Twilight Princess.

You have to go to the Channel, but I tested it whit a USA gc game and it workt like a charm, the healt warning is just a black screen still need to press A button and WII controler to move on, the regon free games thingy works really good, I have a WII whit no Mod chip ore anyhting in it, PAL version 3.2E. instal is easy, really worth it in my eyes.

I am not putting this anywhere near my Wii until I know a few things.

Can you pick and choose what alterations this will make to your Wii? I would love to run my Japanese Gamecube games on my unmodified PAL Wii, however wouldn't like to loose the Wii System Health and Safety warning or background music. Don't know about anyone else, but I find looking at the health and safety screen a lot more appealing to looking at a black screen.

Does this have the capacity to only alter what I want or does it do the whole process insisting that everything it does is somehow better?

if this can play burned imports, then it's the best thing

I don't believe this will allowed for that and will not be incorporated as that would lead to even more problems (piracy) if Burned disk played.

I don't think this forums enjoyed the talk of playing burned games (regardless if is an import or not). Reason I enjoy reading them as they aren't pro-piracy (at least the Wii threats I heard...outside of emulating old systems that is)

I just want to know if it will conflict with a installed modchip, as most mod chips have their own region patching. ( which fails. )

He's asking if it lets you play imports on mod chipped Wii's.

Sorry if this a disallowed topic, just delete.
