BarryH found that Gamekult has archived the Landstalker PSP art, which I will also now archive (http://www.gamekult.com/images/J000075779/), just in case. As you can see, it was meant to come out in 2006, so...it's pretty likely that it's canceled. The only other shown products of this venture were a looping video of a mountain redone in 3D, and a large diorama at TGS, which was pretty neat.

Shame it was never made. In case you didn't know Landstalker was a great game on the Genesis/Mega Drive, the same team went on to make its spiritual successor Darksavior for the Saturn ;)

Yeah it's such a shame. Climax has made some of my favorite games. The Shining series on Genesis/MD was amazing, and when Landstalker came along I was in heaven. It's really sad this never turned into anything. Must've been a lot of internal problems with the team I'm guessing. Plus the fact that the PSP wasn't selling all to well around that time.

I loved Landstalker and was really looking forward to this.... However I've never heard of Dark Savior, so checking that out will be just as good !!! :)

Hadn't heard of that one either. From the gameplay videos it looks like the combat is turn-based though?

Landstalker has a few sequels:

Ladystalker (nice title!) on the Super Famicom
Alundra I and II on the PS1
Timestalkers on the Dreamcast

Dark Savior isn't a Landstalker sequel but it might as well be, seeing as it's the same isometric gameplay and the same team at Climax who made it.

I really liked Darksaviour and LadyStalker (yeah the title is ammusing). Alundra I &II were good games as well. Time Stalkers didn't appeal to me though. I tried to get into it, but just couldn't.
