Don't know if anyone is interested in this but at least you can get more out of your memory stick this way. But you can make zips and unzip them with PKZIP running in DOSBOX.

get it here:[URL]http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file_description/0,fid,1233,00.asp

have fun lol

I'm a bit confused?

Do you mean to say the old DOS version of PKZIP does a better job of compresison then WinZIP or WinRAR?

If so, Have you done some comparisons yourself or know of a site that has?

He means you can decompress them while running your psp. You guys should already have a program to do that.

I've not heard of anybody unzipping files on their psp...but I could just be missing it. Just seemed a way to save space on you memorystick.

Its been done... though I dont believe it has ever been released in an app like a file launcher. Emulators take advantage of unzip.

he means like... have a zipped emulator and unzip it on the fly to load it.

My point is if you download a zip file (i.e. pspchess.zip) using pkzip/pkunzip in dosbox you can unzip it on the fly without having to use your pc...if people have already been doing this then I was unaware of it and apologize...just seemed neat to me.
