AVD File Size

I just updated to 2.0 for GTA, and tried out the AVC codec. The only thing is, on my PSP i'm only interested about file size. I could get an mp4 down to 44mb for a 20 min show, but AVC is 53mb. Does this seem right?

theavc codec doesn't 'replace' mp4 does it? it's an additional higher quality codec ... isn't it.. how does that file look compared to the same vid encoded as a 50~ mb mp4
