Durante (http://psp.metaclassofnil.com/crystalise/) has released an Excellent looking game for the PSP, heres whats posted on his Site (http://psp.metaclassofnil.com/crystalise/):

Crystalise is an action/puzzle game for the Sony PSP.
It uses a highly modified version of Shine & Nevin's LuaPlayer.

Most of the functionality is contained in about 2600 lines of Lua code, but I implemented some fairly game-specific performance-critical methods in C. I also rewrote most of LuaPlayer's graphics code to use OpenGL and added some (graphical and other) features.

All images and sound effects were also made by me, so you should be aware that this is programmer's art.

I see from the authors website that there isnt a 2.0 eboot loader version - I would love to see one! What does anyone think to the game who has played it on 1.0 or 1.5?

cheers

It's Qix, without the line chasers. The only problem is that there doesn't appear to be any way past level one. I sealed off %96 percent of the level and it didn't end. It would be a bit better if the game was made a bit more closer to the original Qix formula, such as winning a level after sealing off a certain percentage, the ability to stop and change direction, and maybe even little line chasers that follow your lines randomly to keep you on your toes. The ability to freeze time is interesting. Qix was a very defensive game, and it's refreshing to have some offensive powers.

It might be just me, but I found the game to be REALLY impressive compared to some LUA games I've seen. I hope to see additional levels and more Qix like features soon.

Although it looks like Qix, it's not. I tried to play it like Qix at first and got frustrated at not being able to finish the level.

The aim of the game is to trap the crystals outside the ring, freezing them. The easiest way (I find) is to cut the corners, boxing the crystals out. When all crystals are frozen, the level is complete.

As urchin explained, the aim of the game is quite different from Qix (which I didn't even know before it was pointed out to me after the release ;)).

If you do manage to get past level one (I just reached 28 on Easy the other day :p) there is some more variety. Every 3rd and 5th level at least. Please check out the help file (included in the download or online here: http://psp.metaclassofnil.com/crystalise/docs/help.html) for more information.
