Enduro Racer and Impossible Mission work great on this emulator. Just to hear , "Another visitor, stay a while, stay forever!" , brought the biggest smile on my face. The master system version isn't as good as the C64, but its still very playable.

Game Gear works great Sound is off but if you turn it down low it's ok.
Plays full speed and saves too.
Great first release better than the other one floating around that just got sunk

Any other option other than going back to the ROM menu?
I couldn't find one. So how the hell do you load and save gamestates? Or does he just mean that you can now power-down the PSP with the emulator running and it will pick up right where it left off without crashing? Well, it supports restoring after a power-down, so I guess that's what he means.

I think it uses the save type some game gears use (auto) If you reset the game it auto saves it.

To make sure I used the ingame save and that works.
When i reseted it still picked up on continue.
The sound is strange it breaks up bad when its loud or normal but turn it down to low and it's ok.
It still very much plaable.
Shining Force final confilct (trans) works great

While hardly the best emulator on the PSP, this is infintely better than the SMS 0.5 SMS/GG emulator. Zip support and full speed are welcome additions. I think the sound is pretty true to the original systems (having had both, I know they were weak), though I am sure it could use a little tweaking.

Wish list:
save states
alternate screen formats (not just full/stretch)
return to game after entering the rom/options menu
hmm, how about some options to adjust :)

Nice work however, a welcomed addition.

Great Stuff!
Might be worth putting a good icon in
OMFG it has ANALOG SUPPORT you are THE BEST!!!
Yoshihiro couldnt even put that in.

Yoshi incase you are reading this. i want to point a few things out.
1. Your emu is good yes but you wont read your forums and give users information they need.
2. Netherless the background is good
3. Dont go flouting at other websites in your programs. People prolly visit them more often now :). You actually advertised their site in your program! Wow do that for me!\
4. Really analog support could have been done from the start.

Doesnt everyone see? Good things take good time! (SmsPlus)

p.s Yoshi, dont go making accusations that Mr Swindle stole your source. I know he would have written stuff from scratch. you prolly used his source and never credited him for it.

Actually, you'll note that Mr. Swindle does a hell of a job posting in his READMEs EXACTLY where this came from, and notes everything else he's used and who has helped him out.
Yoshi just steals code and releases it as his own work.

Just thought I would reply to a few of the comments

iball - Load and saving game states is not supported in this version, this is just the initial release with the base emulator and a quick file selector that I put together

ataribob - Yeah, the sound playing up when you turn it up is due to me multiplying the sound as it was really quiet, need some fine tuning on that, I think that most games that I tried seem ok on a quiet setting. I should have tested on a higher volume.

raiser72 - I have a gamegear (which I still use) which I will be using to try and compare the sound at some point and try and improve it, the items on your wish list are fairly much all on my list of things that I want to get done, plus auto save on power loss is on there as well and 2.0 support.

Wally - For icons, eventually I will have one sorted in time, but sorting code out first is my main priority.

Cswindle, excellent port you got there! It's on my PSP so I can relive my childhood.
Keep up the good work, but watch out for Yoshi. He may steal the changes you make to the original source you used for the port and release "his" version.
He's done it twice now.
Again, thanks for the hard work you put into this, many of us appreciate it.

(p.s. When you get it finished and sorted out, can you code in SegaCD support to one of the Genesis ports?)

That's funny

The in-game save option works great.++ :D

This actual emulator plays faster than the game gear ++ :D

It will play any translated Game Gear game that you can't play on a real Game Gear using a Game Gear flash card ++ ;)

I copied the folders to the GAME folder on the PSP, put the roms in the SMSPlus1.2______________________1 folder and the games will not play. Any suggestions? I am really new at this. 5 days old to be exact!

I only registered a new account so I could do the following:

1. Download this awesome emulator

2. Congratulate CSwindle on such an awesome job on this emulator. I wont bother noting some things that need a little bit of work coz this is just an initial release and for a first release, its already pretty darn good!!

Keep it up! :)

Really? Is the SMS emulator you programmed from scratch on the PSP as good as Cswindle's? Where can I download such a fantastic emulator port then? Sounds good to me.
ANYONE can steal closed source code and make minor changes to reflect a new hardware environment and then release it as their own port. It's just ethically and morally unsound to do so.

Hmmmm....try just copying the folders out of the archive "as-is".
I think the "hide corrupted icon" hack is throwing it out of whack.
You want two folders that look like the following (although the folder name can probably vary):
SMSPlus1.2
SMSPlus1.2%

He didnt steal any source..

Actually when you credit someone its not classed as stealing.

You're right. CSwindle didn't steal any source at all. Yoshi did.
Just "crediting" someone or something isn't enough. If it's NOT open source released under a GPL-style license or one like it, then you CAN'T just steal it and port it to another system. That's "illegal" in every sense of the word.
"I stole this book from Waldenbooks" is still going to land me in jail, even though I'm "crediting" the store I stole it from.
Current U.S. copyright law. To know it is to have a love-hate relationship with it.

whoa hes got ur back up a bit, just chill geezer, if your really bothered make a better one from an open source and his will be thrown into the shadows (well i suppose cswindles already done that but we still chatting bout it so wtf why not!)

This topic page is for CSwindle's awesome SMS port. Please talk about Yoshi stealing code elsewhere. There are already other topics being posted about his emu. Talk about it there. All we need to do is make suggestions and praise to CSwindle about "his" amazing SMS emu. I know how you feel Iball but you've mentioned it in other topics. Lets just keep this focused on SMS Plus.

I really loved this emulator ! :D The SMS is my favorite system of all! But still, it needs to have the save/loadstate done to be 100% perfect ! :D If you aren't having time to work this out, i'm willing to help ! I already have a smsplus source version with savestate implemented, so I don't think it will be impossibly difficult to port it, using some psp source examples :S ! (it's just what I think, I might be terribly wrong ^,^)

I'm just eager to play my favorites with possibility to stop and continue cos I don't have time to play then to the end at once like I had before ! :S heheeh

Thanks again for the awsome emulator ! =D
