Spike's Japanese street fighting game is at long last set to leave its PlayStation 2 roots. The next target for the Kenka Bancho series is the PSP, which will be getting Kenka Bancho 3 Zenkoku Seiha (Conquer the Whole Country) later this year.

In this sequel, you play as Takashi Sakamoto, a high school student who's been forced to go on his school trip to a fictional city named Kyoto (no, it's not the same as Japan's ancient capital and home of Nintendo). It's there that Sakamoto, already king of the streets in his part of the country, learns that all the street toughs gather in Kyoto every year to determine the toughest tough in all of Japan. He plans on winning!

Kenka Bancho 3 will feature the hand-to-hand combat and free-roaming gameplay for which the series is known. The gameplay is also being updated to reflect the fact that Sakamoto is on a school trip. He'll be able to have romances with a variety of girls, and take part in tourism. It's up to you to decide what you want to do over the seven days of your trip.

Also new for the PSP version is multiplayer. While we don't have specifics, Spike is planning on some major ad-hoc support for the game.

Kenka Bancho 3 hits Japan on November 27.
