REminiscence is a rewrite of the engine used in the game Flashback from Delphine Software. This program is designed as a cross-platform replacement for the original executable and uses the SDL library. The included readme does not list all the required files so I'll list them here.....

If you have a version distributed by SSI, you'll have to rename some files :

logosssi.cmd -> logos.cmd
logosssi.pol -> logos.pol
menu1ssi.map -> menu1.map
menu1ssi.pal -> menu1.pal

additionally you will need the Amiga MOD files listed in the readme if you want sound during the cut scenes.

I have put in a folder data amigasound
Has written down then has started on dreamcast and music in prompts of game is not present

Why there is no music in prompts?

just put the mod files renamed without the .mod extension in the data folder

Has made all as you have written has removed expansion .mod
For example mod.flashback-fin.mod-> mod.flashback-fin also has put files in a folder \data
But music in game is not present :confused:
Correct directory mod files \data or \data \amiga_music ???

например mod.flashback-fin.mod-->mod.flashback-fin и положил файлы в папку \data
но музыки в игре нет :confused:
правильная директория mod файлов \data или \data\amiga_music ???

Is need a keyboard for play o you can use the standard controller?

check the readme for the controller buttons etc to use. it works with a keyboard also if you have one, otherwise everthing need to play the game work with the controller.

I tried this app, but everytime the game freezes on the "delphine software international and us gold presents" screen, no matter if the 1st_read.bin is scrambled or not. I cannot see what is wrong here, so I'm asking for help. the folders&files are shown below:

What version of the data files are you using? I see multiple language version files in your list there and wonder if its being confused at which version you trying to run ?

What version of the data files are you using? I see multiple language version files in your list there and wonder if its being confused at which version you trying to run ?

I also dunno the game version, how can I determine it:confused: I just copied the game content to the /data/ folder, and in dos mode the game starts in english, without language selection, but if you're talking about reminiscence, I'm using the 0.1.8

edit: sorry for the poor english, but seems that I was a bit "miseducated" with my question as it was written before.

Now using dc-tool gui there's a log describing the error, I'm using version 0.1.8 because the 0.1.2 avalibable on dcemu don't execute, always showing the blue screen...

yes, i've merged the music files with the original dos version on the same folder. but it's strange since the game is working fine in an older version, or the amiga musics are only playable in 0.1.8, wich causes the error only in that version of reminiscence?

yes, i've merged the music files with the original dos version on the same folder. but it's strange since the game is working fine in an older version, or the amiga musics are only playable in 0.1.8, wich causes the error only in that version of reminiscence?

yeah i don't think mod support came till later 0.1.4, you have to use the amiga mods though and name them as specified in the readme.

wow, reading the page i've discovered that I didn't rename the mod files correctly: the .mod extension was missing, but i'm sure that I have followed what was in the readme.dreamcast:



also requires the Amiga version mod files named as follows in the data directory

is these the right file names or the names inside the zip that I have downloaded from the page that you've posted?

i tried this way too, and the log file gives the same errors to any of the 3 ways that I have tried. the only way to determine what's happening is to check file by file what you have in your folder and compare to mine :P

even matchin what I have with your data folder (i just had to delete some extra files, all that you have I already had) the error remains the same. I'm thinking about download it from internet, wich will be piracy and I won't have how to ask for help here according to the rules. thanks anyway

I have a supercard miniSD
i have FLASHBACK ORIGINAL (anche I have try also with another version donwloaded in internet)
the problem is:
- I put flashbackDS.sc.nds in miniSD root (x: for example)
- in "x:\data\flashback\data" I put the data directory ..
turn on nds, start flashbackDS.sc.nds and:

fatInit...
No compatible FAT device!

why?

Ya game is working great thanx!
but there is a problem with the mod.[name] files. Whenever sound should play, the bottom screen gets message saying "WARNING: could not find music file 16 - mod.flashback-jungle!" or w/e song should play. I have supercard microsd. Please help.

Hi guys. I couldn't get it working for a while but eventually did.

I patched the flashback.nds file with the correct DLDI tool for my R4 card (have used the dldi tool to patch other things in the past and its worked fine).

I had all the files. I tried having them in a folder called "Flashback" and also tried putting them all in a folder called "data" which I have put on top level of the card.

It was loading up and listing a few files, then saying it could not find all files:

/data/flashback/Data/filename.xxx
/data/flashback/Data/filename.xxx
/data/flashback/Data/filename.xxx
...

It did this for a load of files.

So i tried matching the directory structure exactly, so on my DS I now have:

data\Flashback\Data\filename.xxx for all the files.
then I just have the Flashback.nds file on top level.

Hope that helps someone else.
