Nintendo's recent registering of trademark 'Nintendo V-Pocket' has sent internet speculation, um, ape-shit.[br]As you'll recall, we reported on the trademark last week when it was unveiled by the Japanese Patent Office and at the time entered into the spirit of things by making wild suggestions about the product 'Nintendo V-Pocket' could refer to.[br][br]Of course, unlike a sleeping dog, the 'Nintendo V-Pocket' trademark isn't something that the internet can let lie, and the most recent rumour dropping on the 'net's collective head from a great height is linking 'Nintendo V-Pocket' with Palm Pilot functionality for DS.[br][br]You see, according to reports, Nintendo has licensed Palm OS from PalmSource. This could turn DS into a PDA as well as a games machine and obviously the handheld's touchscreen would be well-suited to such PDA-style action.[br]Although certain quarters have questioned the appeal of - potential - PDA functionality on DS, all we can say is: if you could have access to the entire Batgadget belt, why just opt to plump solely for the Batarang? [br][br]A Nintendo UK rep said that "Nintendo does not comment on internet speculation" when queried earlier about the Palm OS reports, but obviously we'll let you know should we get anything concrete on Nintendo V-Pocket from the horse's mouth.
