Ok so im not a noob, but im not an expert either.

I'm running OFW 3.80.
PSP-2001.
I bought this.
http://us.codejunkies.com/Products/PSP-Battery-Service-Tool__EF000530.aspx

My Battery is a oficial sony 3.6v 1200 mAh.

I have 2 SanDisk memory sticks Pro Duo. They are magic gate.

I have tried downgrading and/or instaling CFW about 20 times.

Everytime I follow the instructions the screen just remains black.

My computer is also vista home basic, but thats not the problem.

I always run the memory stick programs in compatibility mode and adminitrator.

If anyone could help me I would forever be in your debt.

Thanks in advance.

did you put the proper files on your memory stick (a magic memory stick is different then magic gate)

Yes I did put the proper files.
I meant that the memory sticks say magic gate on them.

You shouldnt need a service battery to downgrade or upgrade with cfw.(though it makes things easier) Where did you get your downgrade files? Have you put cfw on a psp before?

1, unplug normal battery
2, unplug AC charger
3, insert Magic MS
4, HOLD the left shoulder button
5, while still holding the L button, insert Pandora.
