Hi All,

For those who haven't seen previous version Hu-Go is a famous emulator
of NEC PC Engine console, running on many system such as Linux and Windows.
(see http://www.zeograd.com/ for details)

PSPHugo is a port on PSP of one latest version of Hu-Go.

What's new then in this version :

- Rewrite sound engine using part of code from Hugo-Wii port version, it is
now much closer to real PC Engine sound.
- Fix sprites display glitches in Gunhead and several other games
- Fix save state issue in all games (it was a miracle if that worked)
- Improve global emulation speed (fullspeed in many games at 266Mhz !)
- Add a new overclock option resulting in a faster emulation speed
(but if you encounter any graphical glitches then you may have to set
overclock to 0 and increase PSP clock speed instead)
- Improve file requester with virtual keyboard to choose sequentially
rom files beginning with a given letter
- Volume booster
- Bug fix in the keyboard menu (joystick keys)
- Add documentation for settings in help menu

How to use it ? Everything is in the README.txt file.

Special thanks to my friend Nicolas C. for support and testing :)

Sources are included, and this package is under the GNU public licence v2, read COPYING.txt file for more information about it.

Enjoy,

Zx.

zx-81, thank you so much for bringing a new and improved PC-Engine emulator to the PSP. This has been something I have hoped to see for quite some time.

This is definitely an emulator to get very excited about and I want to thank you for your work on this. I've always been drawn to the PC-Engine (TurboGrafx-16) and it means a lot to be able to play it on the PSP.

Many, many, thanks yet again!

thanks :) i'm still working on it to add CD support. It should not be hard since original hu-go emulator already support it.

Thank you very much for working on this. I use Temper a lot on my GP2X but I still use my psp quite often. So this is nice too have. When CD support ever gets added are you going the iso/ogg route? Thanks again for porting this and emulating my favorite system.

Great news. I have about three PCE emulators on my PSP, but noone is good enough and many games don't work.
I must try this now. A new PCE emulator on psp was something I hoped for. Thank you!

Hello ZX, I've already told you tah we, in Brasil, are big fans of you, specially because of your ZX-81 emulator. :D

Well, great job with this PCE emulator. Does it runs Supergrafx games? And what about Ninja Gaiden? On xbox, only MednafenX can runs Ninja Gaiden flawlessly...

Again, great job, I'm very happy that you took the PCE emulator! :D

R-Type is quite demanding. Needs 333MHz and overclock for fullspeed.

In Turrican I had some control issues. Sometimes the character moves and jumps only a small step if pressing the D-pad or the jump button. Using the analog control it works.
Needs more than 266MHz for fullspeed.

Why is the default setting overclock 16 percent? Doesn't this decrease compatibility?

Compatibility seems good and graphics quite bug free.
My first impression: The best PCE emulator for PSP.

The fw4x version runs on 3.40OE :) in 1.5 kernel mode (The eboot name ist "PSPHUGO-v1.0.2-fw3x" anyway).

@brunobelo: I just tried Ninja Gaiden and it runs great on the emulator. For best performance, you should set your CPU to 333Mhz. As for other Supergrafx games, I'm not sure but if you show me a list, I can try them out.

@chris-007: If you want a game that has non bug-free graphics, check out cadash. That games has a lot of flickering and graphical issues that make it unplayable. However, this is the only emulator so far that has managed to launch it, compared to the other PCE emulators on the PSP.

Thanks zx-81 for creating so many wonderful emulators for the PSP :)

R-type is buggy, psphugo displays only a part of the screen (256x240 instead of 320x240 for this game). It will be fixed in next version ...

The D-pad doesn't work, because there is no "repeat" mode. It will be fixed in future version coming soon.

Yes. I was able to play pc-kid1 at a good speed with 16, that's why i let it as default.

Wich means that Supergrafx isn't implemented yet, as I tough. :) But I don't really know if it is good to make SGX games run, there aren't much games wich uses SGX...

I want to know if Ninja Gaiden is fully playable. Most emulators resets the game when you kill the 1st boss...
