Im sure many of you who own or did own a Dreamcast in its Heyday will remember a few of the games that Ron has posted (http://rondreamcast.blogspot.com/2008/10/max-payne-para-dreamcast-otra.html) that never saw the light of day, heres the full translated text inc a video of Max Payne that never arrived on Dreamcast:

With a resounding Release Date: Canceled, Remedy Entertainment, the company's game developer announced the cancellation of one of the most anticipated titles for the Sega Dreamcast by thousands of players.

Max Payne is an action game in the third person 3D environment and developed for the PC by the Finnish company Remedy Entertainment, produced by 3D Realms and published by Gathering of Developers in July 2001. The game also was taken to other platforms such as Xbox, Playstation 2, Game Boy Advance and Macintosh

This game started out in 1998, came to be presented at the E3 of that year, but when I was at an advanced stage of development (bad language say that it was above 60%), along with the announcement of Sega in which surprised both friends and strangers with the discontinuation of its latest console, many of the studies decided not to continue with the marketing of "practically finished" games, as was the case of Propeller Arena, flinstones, Halflife and many others.

With the passage of time and given that many people have done with Katana DevKits (development unit of Sega Dreamcast) in many hard drives, have been found in games development phase and certain securities in an advanced state of the same, some have gone to light and by other ethical issues still filling that space so desired by many.

It is said that the underground networks of the Internet, it is feasible to get a dump of it, but at the moment I have not had the good fortune to see him ever, there are those who say that they have, but my opinion is far from accepting such an assertion.

The same goes with Castlevania, in the Dreamcast sites are always hoping that someday appear, having left all the titles that were canceled, another rooster sing?

Damn some awesome games, I wish Majesco could release like a Dreamcast v.2 and coax one or two people to release unfinished games :(

Some of those games may have saved the dreamcast.

I know I would have got one just for Streets Of Rage 4 ;)

I'm still find 'Sonic & Knuckles RPG' fascinating.
I wonder how far it got (I'm guessing it got to the drawing board)

I wonder where ron got this list from, cause there are much larger lists out there.

This one is shorter but has references: http://www.sega-brasil.com.br/especiais/dcunreleased/index_en.shtml

Another list with some not included elsewhere: http://www.segadatabase.net/sega/dc/ur/index.htm#

This list is very similar too: http://boards2.sega.com/sega_board/viewtopic.php?t=13751

What would be nice is a list with proper citations. Most of these come from magazines which had little bits about them, but a number have been guesses based on... who knows?

About max payne, I was at a conference a few years a go, which the head of remedy was doing a Q&A. Hes was asked about the dreamcast version of Max, he said that he never saw any max payne code running on the dc

Well 100 Swords did get a US release...just it was for PC. I hate these lists. It makes me sad and angry every time I read them. The always "what could've been" Same for when I got my Turbo Duo. EGM had a list of US games in development and more than 70% of them were canceled.

well DC got his notoficiallyreleasedbutexistinginfact games (half life, propeller arena...), maybe it could happen like 3DO scene -some unreleased game licenses were buyed and the games are being released now-

Also theres always a chance to get devkits with unreleased games -but the chance to found games in advanced stages of development is low-

Maybe someone can give the DC scene a "gift" for the 10º anniversary :D:D:D:D

Agartha looked so good, so did Picassio - two I'd love to see. We can only hope that in some midlander's basement we could find a pre-production disc!

Would've enjoyed the Sonic and Knuckles RPG...
I mean back then, Sonic team knew their stuff...
Now they are just a bunch of adults trying to get "HIP" with the consumers...

Sure as hell the game would've been better then all the Sonic games we have today.

I've heard from in depth Sonic sites that Sonic & Knuckles RPG was what eventually became Sonic Heroes, though i'm not sure how true that is.

Senko no rondo was never considered for Dreamcast, I think it was just hope on the Dreamcast communicates side which led to a petition, seeing as it was a Naomi game in the arcades.
