Is there way to replace GD_ROM with normal wide spread PC CDROM or CDRW?

If you want to just replace the laser assembly then yes. But it isnt easy, it is purely based on luck if you can find a compatible laser.
Or do you mean configure a PC CD-ROM to work with the DC? As in making an IDE interface? Because that however is more trouble than its worth.

I've heard about rather common IDE controller (OTI?) used in DC GD_ROM that actually use IDE bus. Is that possible to connect to that BUS? Let's say connect another IDE CDROM or compatible to that BUS.
Btw, is there other laser units that compatible with GD-ROM?

You could build the IDE controller for the parallel port, there are several guides just google it.
However, nothing would boot. You'd need to write your own code to tell the DC what to do with that CD-ROM or HDD thats connected to that IDE bus.
