PSP Connect (download movies, games) slated for March
Topic: Portable Gaming
I'm not at the 2006 Consumer Electronics Show, but Engadget is, and they're liveblogging Sony's press preview. Big news: Sony will roll out PSP Connect, a PSP-specific version of its iTunes competitor service Sony Connect, in March.

This sort of thing has been rumored since before the PSP was even officially shown off back in May of 2004. And I think I was bitching in a blog entry last month that they really needed something like this for indie game development.

There's no indication yet whether PSP Connect will indeed provide an outlet for such. And it's important to mention that the Xbox 360 offers the same sort of service, but that the current downloadable offerings are skimpy. So don't get caught up in imagining that a plentiful cornucopia of content will suddenly gush forth onto your PSP the moment this launches.

Still, though. Should be fun to see exactly what sort of games you'll be able to download. I may need a bigger memory stick.
