Hi All,

Here is a new version of PSP7800 the Atari 7800 console emulator !

For those who haven't seen previous versions, ProSystem
is the best emulator of Atari 7800 game console, running on Windows system.
It has been written by Greg Stanton, see http://home.comcast.net/~gscottstanton for details.

What's new in version 1.2.0 :

- Improve global emulation speed !
- New render modes
- Add vertical shift feature
- Finally fix issue with "Home -> Exit" !
- Add documentation for settings in help menu
- The virtual keyboard is now usable in the file requester menu to
choose the first letter of the game you search !
- Improve file requester with virtual keyboard to choose
sequentially rom files beginning with a given letter
- Text editor to write your own comments on games
- Display first comment line while browsing game files
- Cheat support !
- Memory monitoring engine to find your own cheat code !
- Text editor to modify the global cheat.txt file
- Zip rom files are now decompressed in memory (much faster !)
- Add option to disable auto fire in settings menu
- Add eboot music (see http://www.jamendo.com/en/artist/nexus)
- Source code can now be compiled to build a linux version

How to use it ? Everything is in the README.txt file.

Sources are included, and this package is under the GNU public license,
read COPYING.txt file for more information about it.

It has been tested on both FAT and SLIM using firmware 5.0-m33
and firmware 1.5 (addon stuff)

you need to install a custom firmware to be able to run any homebrew, and this one in particular.

AWESOME.

Now every game runs at full speed.

Hey ZX - can the speedups you made to this one be applied to PSP2600? They might solve the slowness problems in Pitfall II.

Zx- I noticed one slight bug.

When you run it under 4.01-m33 firmware runnign the 4.01 kernel, if you change the default settings for processor to 333 and save it as a default.set file, and then exit, then next time you start psp7800, the default of 333 doesn't load, and it plays at 222, until you go into the settings menu and load it up.

However - if you play it under the 1.50 kernel, it works fine.

Not a big deal, but a bug.

it works fine for me ... may be a plugin you have installed ?

You were right it was a plugin.

It was Popsloader. Which doesn't really make any sense, because popsloader doesn't affect the CPU speed. Weird.

Actually - it was CWcheat taht was messing with it. even though I had it "disabled" in the recovery menu, it was loading up anyway. once I removed it, PSP7800 is fine, and I can still run the popsloader plugin.

I was all excited about this system when reading about it years & years ago in the early 80's in I believe Antic or Analog magazine. It went on about the Maria chip. Really sad that they marketed the system so poorly. Years ago I did pick up one at a thrift store. Just because I like the design. It's now great to be able to own the whole catalog of games on the PSP.

Although, in all honestly many of the games for the 7800 aren't so great & it almost seems like the Atari 5200 games had more spirit to them. Still cool to have it on the PSP! Thanks again!
