Adhoc Party for PSP is an online service with a super descriptive title. No real surprises, it allows users to play PSP titles featuring ad hoc over the internet via the PS3. Originally slated for October 30 in Japan, users will be able to download the beta to their PS3s and play online in titles like Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G and Phantasy Star Portable. Adhoc Party features a lobby where players can chat with and meet other players. Sony has announced today that the service has been pushed back until early November. Sit tight.

Homebrew users can already do this, and we can do it without a PS3. :p

As a PS3 owner, this feature would be great. I've always griped about the lack of online multiplayer gaming when it came to PSP.

Yes, I know there is Xlink Kai but for me, using the PS3 to do this is more convenient and should make the amount of people online with PSP's more numerous.

Very true.
Xlink Kai is extremely inconvenient and the PS3 would definitely have tons more people. Very good points.

while decent points, here's another one, not everyone who own's a psp owns a ps3. And while that is/was/will be Sony's overall plan, the price point will always be a deciding factor...

I use/used xlink kai...it's not "that" inconviniant, in my humble opinion.
