Hi All,

For those who haven't seen previous versions, fMSX is a famous emulator of the MSX, MSX2, and MSX2+ 8bit home computers.
It runs MSX/MSX2/MSX2+ software on many different platforms including Windows and Unix.
See http://fms.komkon.org/fMSX/ for further informations.
It has been first written by Marat Fayzullin, and later Vincent van Dam ported it on SDL.

What's new in version 1.4.1 :

- Finally fix issue with "Home -> Exit" !
- Text editor to write your own comments on games
- Display first comment line while browsing game files
- Digital pad is now usable in file requester
even when danzeff keyboard is displayed
- Fix inconsistency between zip rom file names and save game name.
- Improve cheat menu & memory monitoring engine
- Text editor to modify the global cheat.txt file
- Tested on new FW 5x-M33
- Bug fix in unzip function (if you tried to unzip
more than 10 files, it wasn't able to open any
other files, and you had to restart the emulator)
- Add option to disable auto fire in settings menu

How to use it ? Everything is in the README.txt file.

Sources are included, and are distributed under Marat Fayzullin's license for the original MSX part, and under GNU license for all the PSP part.

This should be the last release, (before the next one as always)

Enjoy, Zx.

Great Job!

By the way, how do you use the keyboard to do the Metal Gear cheats?

I pressed start to open the keyboard (after pressing F1 to pause). I typed in the cheat codes, but I didn't get any cheat sound nor did I think the cheats worked.

Also when your typing on the keyboard you can't tell what letter is being pressed.

Please help?

Or send me a save state with all the cheats loaded. Thanks

there is nothing particular to do when you enter your hidden password for mgs. I've tested "anta wa erai" and it works just fine ...

anyway when i've added cheat support it wasn't for such cheat codes, but mainly to force value to specific ram address (such as live numbers etc ...)

Thank you, but quick question, when I bring up the keyboard, which button do I need to press to select the letters and also do you treat it like you would a mobile phone?

Eg. Press the button twice to get H? etc

I just need help using the keyboard without remapping all of my keys.

Sorry but I'm pretty new to MSX in general.

Ps. what's that tune that plays when highlight the emulator? It's bitchin'!

It's danzeff keyboard, use analog stick to select a square (you can press L or R to toggle between panel)
You have then to select one letter from 4 letters :
press triangle to enter the upper letter, cross for the bottom one, square for the left one, and circle for the right one. Btw it's already explained in the README file.
