I used this method for a DC based 5.00 M33-3 because, it does not change DC 7, everything works, and uses the same files. (I only renamed one) I only added the 2nd menu which simply runs Alex's 5.00 M33-3 installer just like you would from the XMB. You will need the 5.00 SCE updater in the ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/ folder. You can also take screenshots in the 4.01 version of DC 7 only by pressing the note key.

Just copy the files to the root of your MS.

Enjoy

Edit:

Sorry, messed up :o

All the file are correct just the directory structure is messed up. The file is double packed.

If you want this feel free to download it:

Update:

The directory structure got messed up, This is the proper structure. I'm very sorry for the mix up. Don't not worry the error will not effect DC 7.

Just copy MS_ROOT to your MS.

A few tips:

1: Download the 5.00 EBOOT.PBP, rename it 500.PBP, and copy it into the UPDATE folder just like a M33 update.

2: Do not perform any NAND operations under the 5.00 menu, it should work, but I do not have a Slim at this time to fully test this.

Enjoy

Sorry for the mix up.

I need a sanity tester (beta tester) :p

Gee, that looks familiar (http://forums.maxconsole.net/showpost.php?p=1027334&postcount=173). What is it we do to hex editors that don't ask permission and give no credits again? All you had to do was ask tinman, I'd have probably given you the source so you could have done it without breaking my method to run nandTool

Again? I hope that is not aimed at me, seeing that I have never released anything. I did credit you, as seen here (http://endlessparadigm.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=14665&pid=188662#pid188662), but because I screwed the release up a few times, things got skipped. This is why I never released any of the small things I made.

So, I'm very sorry, if I did not ask you, or more so credit you for the PRX.

Again as in "teacher, what is it we are supposed to do again?" To me mentioning this is all good fun, albeit at your expense (the apology should be mine as it's clear you didn't get that out of what I said)... well so long as you aren't representing a certain ***nfo site which does such things on purpose.

Seriously, if you want the source to prevent breaking it's original purpose while still serving yours (I'm not entirely sure I could do that) just let me know, what you have done here is quite useful (at least I think so) to not have folks trying to make Dark_Alex update DC every time m33 is updated.

In fact, in hindsight I wonder if there is any reason why dark_alex doesn't just use DC7 as a base to run his m33 updaters as is to avoid update requests himself... it could fetch the install version for a third install menu item right from the sfo (if present) and never need anything but hardware compatibility fixes. Probably having too much of his own fun working on adding to vlf to consider a simpler solution..?
