A standard 14" CRT TV set. Since i've no HD consoles why bother with an upgrade?

22" Samsung LCD on my PC.

Seems to be the sweet spot in terms of price:size for monitors.

Still only on a 68cm CRT TV, no HD consoles. Although a mate just got a full HD 40" LCD which I must admit has tempted me to splash out on a new set.

19" TFT on my PC. I hate it. I want to go back to my old 19" CRT which died on me (19" trinitron CRT, 1600x1200, "HD" eats turds)

Also running a 32" DAEWOO HDTV, also suck ass for the same reasons. HD isnt HD. TFT isnt CRT.

If your 360 has HDMI, then you can use an HDMI > DVI cable. I use one for my cable box. The only gotcha with the 360 is that you also need to have the standard AV connector connected to provide sound - and it doesn't fit. You need to remove the plastic case from the connector.

See: http://www.command-tab.com/2007/09/16/xbox-360-hdmi-audio-output/

and this comment:

"You don’t need to buy a new cable that is a waste of money.

Just use a screwdriver and pop the lower plastic casing off of the connector on the cable that comes with xbox 360 pro and it will fit perfectly with hdmi plugged in at the same time.

when you pop off the plastic you will see that innards of the cable are still protected by an aluminum enclosure, so you are not damaging the cable or exposing it by poping off the bottom half of the plastic enclosure."

To answer the OP: I have a Dell 3706 flatpanel that isn't full HD but still looks lovely. It's not perfect and
I wouldn't recommend anyone buy one at full retail, but I scored mine for free so I'm happy. The 360 is connected to this.

Using a 22" LCD Optiquest/Viewsonic or, at its side, my second monitor, a 19" Optiquest/Viewsonic LCD for everything... (Got myself a little switch so I can use 4 consoles without unplugging). You know, Nes, Snes, N64 and Wii... It's starting to be a little cramped in here however...

I recently upgraded to a flat-screen 20" CRT, since I had to give up my standard 20" CRT to my sister a few months back after a series of unfortunate events. Conveniently, it supports digital, so should I ever decide to start watching television again, it'll work without a converter.

I could care less about HDTVs. In my opinion, now's the perfect time to get larger "out-dated" TVs for dirt cheap.

Interesting :D although i have the 360 without the hdmi, the vga output isnt exactly rubbish though, the picture i get of it on to the monitor is fantastic, probably more down to the monitor iself though i wouldve thought

Polaroid 2626-TLMB: 26" High Definition LCD TV, supports 1080i , got it from a friend cheap cause he wanted 1080p and a bigger screen (that's a bit compulsive if you ask me, this one works just fine)

my friend sold it to me as a 29", but that's because stores tend to exagerate, I think they count the frame as well, not just the screen. You all should check yours with the product ID code, you might have a rude awakening as I had

Also, a lot of my gaming is on my PSPs screen

26" RCA 720p LCD HDTV

PS3 is connected via high quality Monster HDMI cable.

XBOX 360 is connected via Component HD cables.

Thinking of upgrading to a 32" screen soon. If I can afford it, a 42" 1080p 120khz refresh LCD HDTV is on my wish list.

I Have Variations:

PC Uses : Either TV (HDMI) or PC (22" HDMI)
360 Uses : Smaller and Older HDTV (1080i\Component)
PS3 Uses : HDMI TV

But The Best Consoles are my 2 Oldest and Possibly 2nd most played (PCs Are my #1):

Super Nintendo And Dreamcast : Using a Standard TV, Unsure of the size..

SNES is possibly at the Highest Graphic Performance of the 2, since i have no VGA Box or S-Video Cables for DC) and it's using AV Cords)

Most Things now are run off of HDMI: since it's now used in PC Monitors, DVI Mods, and other hookups. HD is in popular PCs Gamess and etc

Up until a year or so ago my Dreamcast, and later my 360 were hooked up to a Sony 15" CRT TV. They're now both connected to a Samsung 23" LCD HDTV.

The 360 is always connected via VGA (at a resolution of 1360 x 768) unless a game like Doom 3 for example won't support it, in which case I go back to the component cable. In my case the VGA picture is better with slightly less compression noise and artefacts on screen compared to component.

The DC is usually connected via VGA but again, if a game won't support it (Bangai-O, Capcom Vs SNK etc.) I have to go back to scart cable. For some reason this produces a slight rippling effect on my LCD screen which is annoying.

Occasionally I hook up the DC via a VGA box to a 19" Mitsubishi flat screen CRT monitor I have stashed away in a wardrobe. This is perhaps the best set up for my DC and makes everything look the best to my eyes, but lack of space kinda rules it out at the mo. I'm keeping the monitor though as it would be good to have it permanently set up to it at some stage.

I've went from using many tvs.

1st TV and going back to shortly is my 27 inch Panasonic. No its not HD but it can use the rgb cables in the back for better picture. This is your SD type of tv with amazing great picture may not be a LCD but it has a 3D comb filter in it so i think it does a good job the colours are sharp aswell.

TV number 2 was a Panasonic 56inch HD rear projection TV. I believe this TV would have been great if somebody in the house i used to live in wasnt so big on smoking. Well there for the TV has lost some small points cause of the tar stains on the screen. Also the tv doesnt do any progressive screening and i mean no 720p or 1080p. It does do 1080i and it doesnt look to bad but its no LCD screen.

3rd screen was my parents LCD screen used only 2 times cause it was in my sisters room and now is being used at my parents trailer. This screen was awesome even better then my Panasonic. Sadly though i cant compare to much cause i'd much rather play on a 27inch CRT then a 27 LCD cause thats small for those type of tvs.

But if your going to pick an amazing tv to play games or watch anything in its beautiful glory of HD then yes go LCD all the way. Dont do Plasma cause there bad for ghosting they aswell dont last aslong as your LCD.
