TeamCyclops has come out and released a video stating that they were also able to get their CycloDS Evolution working on the new Nintendo DSi

Team Cyclops are pleased to announce that for some time we have had a working test setup which is capable of running CycloDS Evolution on the Nintendo DSi. We must stress however that this is part of our research only; there is still a great deal of work to be done before we can even decide if a DSi compatible device is viable or not. The DSi features a completely redesigned security system which renders all current devices incompatible and at this stage it is unknown if there is any reliable way to overcome the new measures. We will continue our research into the DSi and in the mean time, please see the following video which demonstrates what we have achieved so far.

Like the Acekard (http://reviews.dcemu.co.uk/acekard-on-nintendo-dsi-171385.html), its still a work in progress as they are still finding more information about the DSi and that it is not commercially ready.

This is cool, but will firmware updates block any progress made?

These are the kinds of reasons I bought not just one but TWO CycloDS's. Team Cyclops support is top notch.

DarkJesus: It seems they had to modify the DSi internally to get the flash cart going, and they are unsure if they can get one working on an unmodified DSi.
If they can do it then it will likely require a new flash cart.

Official firmware updates could very well be made to break any progress the flash cart companies make, although I guess it depends how they are able to get around the new security measures.
Could be a cat and mouse game like the PSP, although as older DS's wouldn't be accepting forced updates from game carts it would be interesting to see how they go about that.

DSi is obviously largely an anti-piracy measure, and that's fair enough. Even young kids who normally make their parents buy all the shovelware on DS are learning of flash carts.

The issue with making these so soon is that it give Nintendo time to patch them before DSi is released it USA and Canada :(..
