Seriously, how many spare Xbox 360s does Benjamin Heckendorn have laying around? By our count, this is the third instance where the modder extraordinaire has shoved Microsoft's latest console into something that's theoretically playable on one's lap, and obviously, this one is the best one evar. Dubbed the Xbox 360 Portable, the unit is said to weigh almost as much as his sister's cat, and it differs from most other on-the-go 360s by featuring a removable standard Xbox 360 hard drive, two accessible memory card slots, no keyboard (use the chatpad!), an internal WiFi module and beveled edges for extra safety. We'd ask what crazy mod he's planning with all the free time coming up over the holiday break, but honestly, we'd prefer to be surprised.

Hello:

I've been following Ben Heck since he started with the Atari Portables. So far, he made 5 Xbox 360 laptops. The first one is white; the second, black and green. Both included a 20GB HDD and a full PC keyboard. The memory card slots are absent on these ones.

The third one is a customized Halo-like Theme in green. This one included a 120GB HDD and the full keyboad. Also absent in this one is the memory card slots. The fourth was made as petition from THQ for a Saint's Row 2 contest they made. That one has the memory card slots and no keyboard. The fifth one is the one on this article.

Each one is better than its predecessor. All versions he made includes the built-in WiFi. One interesting fact is that he made these mods for $10,000. You can check on his Website(www.benheck.com) for more info about the mods and portable he sells. Another interesting fact is the first one he built is the only one with an integrated water cooling system.
