Mk_BS (http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=2148166512&postcount=78) has released port of Aleph One ( which plays Marathon 2 and Marathon Infinity! )

Here's the release notes:

================================
Aleph One PSP 0.1
================================
Ported by Mk - BarrySoft

----------------------
Info
----------------------

This is a PSP port (1.50 kernel only at the moment) of Aleph One I made, sadly it
actually seems to work only with Marathon 2 and Marathon Infinity but not with Marathon.
I'm releasing this anyway as Marathon 2 and Infinity should already be fully playable
and I'll try to fix the Marathon issue as soon as I can.

Known Bugs:

-Options are not saved correctly
-Issue with energy & oxygen bars' graphics not drawn with
the right palette after CLUT animations

----------------------
Installation
----------------------

I've included all the required data files
as they are now freely distributable so you should
be ready to go, just copy the provided folders in
your GAME150 folder on your PSP

If for any reason you want to get the data files by yourself
just download the package from http://alephone.cebix.net/ and
create a folder called "data" in your EBOOT directory to put
the files into.

Be aware that without the font resources file that is not included
in the package the game will not start, but you can get the font file
from any package at http://source.bungie.org/get/ just rename the
font file to "Font" and place it in the "data" folder

Thanks

To Bungie for creating such a great game and releasing it free and opensource

To the Aleph One community that made my dream of playing the Marathon Trilogy
without a mac possible :)

To Jonn Blanchard from RG Softworks for porting Aleph One on the GP2X, the GP2X port really
helped me a lot to understand where i should start

To the whole PSP Development scene for being so active and full of skilled devs

To my girlfriend that managed to avoid to kill me every time i wasn't answering the phone
testing the new Aleph One build

----------------------
Source
----------------------

I'll add more info on how to compile the source soon, you can get it from:
http://www.barrysoft.it/products/A1PSPsrc.zip

I used some very dirty makefile hackery to make it work so maybe you'll have
to edit some things by yourself to get it work for you.

Thought I'd also bring this up... the folder structure on Marathon 2 is wrong. To correct it switch the folder names.

So It'll be like so...

"alephoneM2" to "alephoneM2%"

and

"alephoneM2%" to "alephoneM2"

in the end its structure should be like this

--GAME ( or GAME150 )
-----alephoneM2
---------EBOOT.PBP
---------data
-----alephoneM2%
---------EBOOT.PBP

edit: links fixed

Thank you all!
I'll start working on the slim version very soon, it shouldn't be too much of a problem but I had nearly no free time these days to star working on it...

Thank you man!

That is one awesome classic I would like to have installed on my Slim!

I already have Exult (Ultima 7), UQM (Star Control 2), Rise of the Triad and Duke Nukem 3d.

What's missing is your Marathon port and... Shadow Warrior... if only someone made a port of that...

Shame there's a DN3D port but no SW (same engine!).

Well, that and FreeCiv SDL.

Oh, I'm blabbering again!

Thanks one more time for your hard work, I really appreciate it!
Marathon games are awesome!

hey guys this is it!
i got marathon 2 and 3 working on my psp slim the day these files came out for download but i didn't think much of it, however seeing as there is so much reuest for it here it goes.
note that i cant remember if i swaped the eboots before iconverted them for use on the psp slim so if it doesnt work swap the eboots (ie. marathon% to marathon, etc.). ok here we go:

1. download leda and install it to psp http://forums.exophase.com/showthread.php?t=10120

2. download "psp brew". this program lets you
convert 1.50 homebrew to 1.00 among other things.
http://community.hackingpsp.com/forums/3295/ShowPost.aspx

3. run the psp brew 1.50 to 1.00 converter. remember this process combine the two eboots.

4. place the newly combined eboot in the folder with the "data file".

do this for both of them and youve got marathon 2 and 3 on your psp slim.

to run these properly (ie stable):
1. place them in your game4xx or 3xx or 5xx folder.

2. press x to start

3.when you get to the picture right before it says "loading collections" or something like that remeber to press start not the "x" or "o" button.
so to make that clearer press the "start button" at the picture.

so now you should be able to run marathon games. please note that because they haven't been coded speciffically for the slim psp they run exactly like the phat plays them, THE SAME SPEED. so there will be a little lag. but who cares they run on the slim now!!!

NOTE: youve probably noticed that i dont have pics or even a link to a video on youtube. This is because i have prepaid internet and have almost run out. im using the last of it for this post so over the next few weeks, or even days, i will try to post pics and a tutorial video, and iuf i can afford it the files themselves ready for play!!!. cheers.

EDIT: im trying to upload pics but it wont let me. whatever the file or size it says i have exeeded my limit by the size of the file im trying to upload
