It's a few days old but still good for research: "Home Renamer v0.1".
You can use it with my "HOME 0.86 unencrypted"-package to give the files the correct extension. So you can easily open them, even in Windows.
"The instructions are simple, to use it just place one of the EXE files in one of the extracted folders that contains the numbered home files (i.e. place the exe in USRDIR-NPBOOT folder for example and run it.)"
