So Stephen Harper won the election. Good stuff we needed a change. Since pretty much everyone outside of Canada barely knows we exist, I guess its my duty as dcemu's resident Canadian to tell you about our new leader.

The standings are at this moment

Conservatives 125 seats
Liberal 103 seats
Bloc Quebecois' 51 seats
NDP 28 seats
Independents 1 seat

This means in a minority government the ruling party must gain support from other parties to pass laws and policy. Stephen Harper will be our new Prime Minister. Paul Martin, our old PM, will in fact step down as Liberal leader. The Quebec separatists will continue to bitch in french, and the NDP has gained new support and nearly doubled its previous seat holdings.

These numbers may change slightly as a small percentage of votes have yet to be counted.

Canadian Conservatism is more like center-right wing. In Canadian Politics everything is pretty left.
