Just quick reference to people who ask this question alot.

TA-085 - Pandorable
TA-085v2 - Pandorable ( cannot make pandora batteries... but can use them )

TA-088 - Pandorable ( cannot make pandora batteries... but can use them )
TA-088v2 - Pandorable ( cannot make pandora batteries... but can use them )
TA-088v3 - Incompatible motherboard ( these do not work due to a new Tachyon that has been implemented in the boards. ) -- these PSPs come shipped stock with Official Firmware 4.01

TA-090 [PSP-2000 :: SLIM] - Pandorable ( cannot make pandora batteries... but can use them )

Obviously anything newer ( PSP-3000's TA-090 and TA-090v2 ) will not work for the same reason as the TA-088v3.

If you got your PSP Slim used (if its under OFW 4.01 you should be fine. ), make a pandora setup and run this (http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=167190) to see if it is the TA-088v3 mobo Slim.
