Depending on how you classify it, obviously all of the work put into the OE and M33 firmwares is the greatest achievement.

For a seperate piece of software, I personally get the most convenience from the Hold+ plugin by Torch. I'm using a pretty old v2.3, but seeing as I use my PSP as an MP3 player most of the time it saves me massive amounts of power by being able to turn off the screen at will. The underclocking saves even more, although I now use another plugin for that instead. I can't think of anything that isn't part of the CFW or Sony firmware that I use more.

Since I was able to use it to replace one of my missing remotes I guess I'll go with IRShell.

The absolute best homebrew on psp is hellcats recovery flasher. i went from 5.00 to 3.90 m33-3 without a pandora, and i can actually use all of the other great 'brew now, like:
Ultimate psptube - saving youtube videos is the shit
bookr - i can read the anarchist cookbook whenever somebody cuts me off on the freeway
Hardware Alarm suite - i will never be late for work again
also honorary mentions for ctorrent, afkim, rhythm 8, and irshell

Raekwik11

it definately has to be IRShell

Hmm.... tough choices for all time...

I guess these would be my tops. :)

PSP Homebrew Apps

All Custom Firmwares and Devhook

I choose this because if it weren't for Custom Firmware and Devhook we would not be where we are today. :)

Other good mentions would be IRShell, PSPIRC, AFKIM, MapThis!, PSPTube and many more. :D

PSP Homebrew Games

Ozone

This game I found to be very very fun :) it's a puzzler that is very well made and truely worth atleast trying ( I find myself going back to it again and again xD )

Games that came close to making it would be Terra Incognita PSP ( for anyone out there that remembers that :p ), Iris, ThrottleX, Dungeons 1 and 2, all game ports, and alot more that i cant think off the top of my head.

PSP Homebrew Emulators

Snes9xTYLsmcm

SNES emulation has been pretty well and this emulator revision defiantly was the icing on the cake for me... everything so far has either been fullspeed or very playable! :D

But seriously... all emulators are great... theres not a one I would say anything negative about :)

Thats my tops from each catagory!

Thanks for Everything,
PSPdemon

J2ME java psp app. that is by far the best app. ya irshell is grate love it, but if irshell had a better web browser(flash supported) then i would vote it number one.

gpsp

picodrive

cps2 is extremly well written but there are not so many nice games on cps2 imo. but perhaps it is the best coded app for the psp?
