DCEmu Awards 2008 - Best PC Emulator of All Time ?

This isnt a serious awards thing but a way to guage public reaction as to what the people here at DCEmu think is the best in each category for the Year of 2008, ill let each category run until the end of Dec 31st to see who has won, theres no prizes but it will be interesting to see whats the winner voted exclusively by the members of DCEmu.

So one vote each.

My vote is for Project 64

The retail Bleem! emu for Dreamcast (3discs).

For 3 reasons:

1 - Nobody has ever been able to recreate a PSX emu nearly as fast as this one for dreamcast, it's a programming masterpiece!

2- Nobody has ever been able to crack this disc and make a release of the retail emu, and that's the only dc-disc I know that managed to do it! It's a copy protection, and CD-hardware structure masterpiece!

3- Randy Linden won a lawsuit against SONY. Give the man credits! (even if after he was too broke to keep on in buisiness).

That's why i think it's the best emulator ever made!

Zsnes

1. rewind. So far next to no one has acquired a rewind.
2. Constant WIP updates.
3. Cool team that isn't afraid to work with the SNES9x team.
4. While SNES9X focuses on PORT-ability, ZSNES is the be all end all SNES emulator for the PC. which is why I am voting it the best emulator for PC.


I was on the fence between Zsnes and MAME but the rewind key was the deal breaker.

No other emulator is more capable of fulfilling a boy's dream of owning his own arcade like MAME.

SSF - works great and is still being updated, and the fact that the Saturn is so tricky to emulate.

Zsnes or ePSXe for sure!


... but since it's one or the other I would say..... Zsnes cause it was my first emulator and I loves it to pieces.
